Going South During the Winter

Going South During the Winter

A homeowner policy defines “Insured Premise” as your residence premise but it also includes;

f. The part of any premise not owned by an insured while an insured is temporarily residing there.

and

i. Any other premises which the insured may occasionally rent for other than business purposes.

That means the Medical Expense coverage on a homeowner policy will cover at the location down South the insured is staying at.

For example, if a family takes a winter getaway and brings friends of their kids, med pay could be used for many of the injuries that may occur.

It also means the 10% off premise limit for contents does not apply.
